Memories

Time is a funny thing. We live our lives in a continuum of events never thinking of an end to our tedious chores, or the business we need to attend to in order to find success in life. We are like machines with a purpose of working to achieve certain goals. Whether it's to complete a project for another, do the laundry, feed the family or take children to school. We never give enough thought of taking care of ourselves whether it be physical or mental. We just keep going, ignoring pain and anguish and many of the confusions life throws our way. And I, like you, are guilty of the same neglect.

Today I come to you with profound sadness as I mourn the loss of my dear friend Kris Tinney 57 years old  who has begun her universal journey to the heavens. She is gone far too soon. Kris was the most dedicated caretaker I have ever known, kind, loving and the hardest worker ever, whether it was for her patients or family. She was strong and one who could be relied on at any time.

Years ago when I was in my early 20's I lost a neighbor with whom I was very close to. I wept Like I had never wept before. I asked her husband why God took her and he explained that if I had to pick flowers from a field would I not choose the most beautiful flowers I could find. Of course, I agreed that I would. Then he added that when God chooses his bouquets he too wants the most beautiful for himself. Suddenly, I understood through my sorrow that God is deserving of all things great and beautiful.

So, I say to each of you, take care of yourselves and most of all love yourselves because there will never be another you. No one will ever fill your shoes.

God bless you one and all and enjoy your every days.
